The rule on file
Regs. Conn. State Agencies § 20-576-36. A supervising pharmacist may supervise up to 2 pharmacy technicians in a community pharmacy, or up to 3 when one of the 3 is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and that pharmacist has not given the pharmacist manager a written refusal to supervise three, or for IV admixture and other sterile products preparation, unit dose and unit of use dispensing and bulk compounding.
That is the sentence the Connecticut page states. The passages below are what the issuing body served when RxShift read it, kept as a dated record so a pharmacy and its counsel can check the sentence against the source. How a rule is read is decided by people and recorded with its date; no automated check can change a reading. RxShift reports deficiencies against this reading; it does not certify compliance, and nothing here is legal advice.
The recorded passages
Recorded word for word on the read of 2026-10-19. Each week an automated re-check opens every official source named here and confirms each passage is still on the page as served; the mark on each passage is what the newest re-check (2026-10-19) found.

Every read and every re-check, newest first
A dated read is RxShift reading the issuing body’s text and recording it in a dated report; its public note is repeated here word for word from the updates log. A re-check is the weekly automated comparison of the recorded passages against the live page. People decide every reading; a re-check never changes one.

Connecticut's pharmacy technician ratio is unchanged as of October 19, 2026. Regs. Conn. State Agencies § 20-576-36, last amended June 28, 2004, allows two pharmacy technicians per supervising pharmacist in a community pharmacy, or three when one of the three is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and the pharmacist has not given a written refusal, or for IV admixture, sterile products, unit dose and bulk compounding work. Regulations for the advanced pharmacy technician tier created by Public Act 24-73 are still being developed by the Department of Consumer Protection.

Connecticut's pharmacy technician ratio is unchanged as of October 16, 2026. A statute read from the General Assembly's site, Conn. Gen. Stat. § 20-633(c)(2), lets a certified technician who only administers vaccines between September 1 and March 31 be left out of the institutional ratio in § 20-576-33; RxShift does not apply that exclusion to community pharmacies, which keeps every technician in the count.

Connecticut allows two pharmacy technicians per supervising pharmacist in a community pharmacy, and three only if at least one of the three is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and the supervising pharmacist has not filed a written refusal, or when the work is IV admixture, sterile products, unit dose or bulk compounding (Regs. Conn. State Agencies § 20-576-36). Connecticut sets no pharmacy-specific maximum shift length, rest period or meal break; the general employee meal-period law (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 31-51ii) applies as it does to other workers, and a pharmacy must keep each pharmacist's written refusal on file where it can be produced to the department.

Connecticut allows two pharmacy technicians per supervising pharmacist, and a third only when at least one of the three is a Certified Pharmacy Technician and the supervising pharmacist has not filed a written refusal to supervise three, or when the work is IV admixture, sterile products, unit dose or bulk compounding (Conn. Agencies Regs. § 20-576-36). Institutional pharmacies follow a separate rule that lets the Commission of Pharmacy grant a higher ratio on petition.

What the re-check results mean
- Confirmed: every recorded passage was still on the issuing body’s page as served that day.
- Mismatch: at least one passage was not found. It is reported as it stands, a person looks, and the rows after it show what followed.
- Not allowed: the issuing body’s site does not permit automated reading, so the rule rests on its dated read, by a person where the page can only be opened in a browser.
- Nothing to match, no baseline: the record on file held no passage the re-check can match, or no report yet qualified as its baseline.
