Ratio-aware scheduling
RxShift applies your state's pharmacist-to-tech ratio rules to every shift as you build it. Certified, non-certified, trainee, and intern counts are tracked separately because the math is different for each, and many states treat them differently. Any slot that would break ratio is flagged before you publish, not discovered after the fact.
Drafting
Build my week: a first draft that already knows your rules
Tell RxShift once what a normal week looks like at each location: how many pharmacists and technicians you want on the floor, and when. Build my week drafts the week from each person's usual shifts, checks every proposed shift against your state's ratio, hour and break rules and your own limits, and tells you plainly where the rules or your roster fall short of what you asked for. Add all of it, or only the people you choose, and publish when it is right. Nothing reaches your staff until you publish, and an undo takes back every draft shift you have not changed.
Live status
Know who can step away, without breaking ratio
The Live Ratio Board shows every location's real-time ratio status and, for each pharmacist on duty, how much headroom that location has right now, so a pharmacist can see whether stepping away for a break would put the floor out of compliance before they do it, not after. Pharmacies running the board on a wall monitor use the read-only kiosk display; everyone else checks it from the sidebar.

An automated hourly Compliance Record
Where your state sets a ratio, RxShift builds a timestamped hourly Compliance Record of what actually happened: the pharmacist and each technician on duty per hour, deficiency flags when coverage falls short, and an alert to your managers if deficient hours run several days in a row. Each hour is recorded from the published schedule and your team's live statuses, never edited afterwards, retained two years, and exports on demand for a board inspection. RxShift never contacts a board itself: that call always stays yours.
Requests, callouts, and swaps: ratio impact shown up front
Time-off requests and callouts show their effect on ratio before anyone approves them, and a manager-approved swap is checked again the moment it is applied. Approving a request that would create a deficiency requires a logged reason, so the record shows a decision was made, not that a gap went unnoticed.
Hours, breaks and rest: your state's rules and your own
In the states RxShift covers, where pharmacy law limits shift length, requires breaks or sets rest between shifts, as Ohio, Illinois and Massachusetts do, RxShift loads those rules for you. Add your own on top: a daily or weekly hour cap, overtime alerts, required breaks, minimum rest between shifts, a limit on days in a row, and each person's availability. Every one is checked as you build and flagged before you publish.
An audit trail and exports you can hand over
Every edit, approval and publish lands in an append-only audit log, and anyone who proceeds past a warning leaves a logged reason. Schedules, the staff roster and the Compliance Record export to Excel, and a print view lays out each location's week on its own page.
Heads-ups before a bad week, not after
Managers can opt in to an end-of-day compliance digest, and a seven-day look-ahead warns when a scheduled week is about to run short, so the fix happens while there is still time to make it.
AI that proposes, never decides
RxShift’s AI assistant can draft shifts from a plain-English request, explain why a slot is flagged, and answer questions from your help articles. It never decides compliance on its own: every proposal runs through the same deterministic ratio engine that builds the Compliance Record, and a person confirms any change before it’s applied. My Schedule and Requests are built for a phone screen: the two things staff actually need to check between shifts. Add RxShift to your home screen and it opens like an app, no App Store required. Building or editing the schedule itself is a desktop task; RxShift will say so rather than force a cramped mobile layout onto it.
