Nevada rule update (2026-09-14): what changed and what it means

If you were waiting to see whether the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy would change the ratio rules at its June 2026 meeting, it did not.

The latest board meeting minutes from July 15-16, 2026, confirm that no changes were made to the pharmacist-to-technician ratio. In Nevada, the rule remains that a pharmacist can supervise no more than three pharmaceutical technicians or a combination of one technician and two technicians in training. The anticipated update, R072-25, has been tabled and left unadopted, and the current rule was last amended in October 2019.

The board's discussions in July were mostly focused on other items, like controlled-substance reconciliation and shipping temperature monitoring requirements. The Board's next meeting is October 14-15, 2026, and its agenda, posted September 24, does not include R072-25.
